Well Fall has arrived with a bang this past week in my neck of the woods. The leaves are changing and falling, sometimes at the same time. 🙂 Here is what I spotted going on in my local park during one of our walks. Mostly these are Maples and Oaks along with some evergreen Pines. I hope you enjoy this slideshow of autumn color.
To join in or to see fall color from all over the world please visit our gracious host Dave @ The Home Garden- Fall Color Project 2009.

Beautiful colors and looks like it was a lovely day for a stroll!
After a few days of rain & grey skies it was good to see the sun shining again. 🙂

Looks great! Think we need a short road trip on Friday up the parkway.
Thanks Janet, that would be fun. Let me know. 🙂

Beautiful views. I’m sure the green trees are feeling very envious of their flashy companions. Who wouldn’t!
Thanks EG, I love the tapestry effect that the evergreens provide at this time of the year. But they must be envious of their colorful companions for sure. 😉

So lovely, Racquel. The color show happened very quickly here as well, and the falling leaves and like an avalanche. Love these sunny days, they seem too few. 🙂
Frances
Thanks Frances. Isn’t it amazing how quickly fall came upon us this season. I’m enjoying these mild days too. 🙂

Racquel, an amazing show, both from the trees and from the slides. Thank you!
Thanks Deborah. I’m glad you enjoyed the show. 🙂

Your walk was beautiful…thanks for taking us along. I am loving the blue skies you are having. Overnight the color arrived in Middle Tennessee…and it’s lovely, too. gail
You are quite welcome Gail, glad you enjoyed the walk too. It was wonderful to see sunshine & blue skies again. We’ve had days of dreary rainy weather. 😉

That’s a neat slide show Racquel. Looks like some great colors are moving in. I’ve just noticed some today on my drive home.
Thank you Susie, I love this time of the year. It’s my second favorite season next to spring (of course). 🙂 Hope you post some of your fall color soon.

Oh, thanks for sharing these Racquel! One of these days I will plan a trip to see fall colors. It’s on the “bucket list!” 🙂
YW Linda, glad you enjoyed the fall show. I can’t imagine not having four seasons to enjoy. Hope you get to check that off your list soon. 🙂

That looks like a great way to show fall foliage. I hope to get out this weekend for a needed trip to the country. I hope I am not too late for the show.
Thanks Les, I’m glad you enjoyed the presentation. Looks like you got a chance already to capture some pretty color too. 🙂

Nice colors! And a good contrast to the temps there versus here. 🙂
Thanks Monica, the weather here right now is a bit tricky. It was nice to see some sunshine! 🙂

Very pretty colors. I love seeing that many trees changing colors together.
Thank you Catherine. Your beautiful Japanese Maple took my breath away. 🙂

The slide show is a great way to show off the pretty fall colors in VA Racquel. I’m envious of all the green you still have around too. You won’t believe it but everything is WHITE here today. ugh.
Thanks Kathleen. I couldn’t believe that you have snow already, it does look pretty covering the birdfeeder though. 🙂

I love fall. Will you replay this in January, please? H.
Me too Helen, it’s my second favorite season next to spring. I’ll try to remember to replay it for you in January. 😉

I’ve always wanted to visit VA in the fall. Been there in the summer and winter. Your slide show was the next best thing to a visit.
Marnie
Well I’m glad you enjoyed the fall tour of Virginia. 🙂

Your slideshow is a great idea! I didn’t take a single autumn photo…until yesterday. Afterwards, I realized how beautiful fall really can be! I hadn’t stopped to take it all in, because I didn’t want to accept that summer is over! But autumn really does have beauty. Here in Northern Va. our trees are still looking good, so yesterday I managed to get some shots just before they start dropping in a major way! Yours are beautiful.
Thanks Jan, I hope you post your autumn photos soon. Fall is my second favorite season next to spring. It is full of it’s own wonder and beauty. And I don’t miss the heat of summer in the least. 😉

Wow! What a fantastic coleous! They are one of my favorite plants, regardless of the variety. They work done by the breeders in the past few years is amazing! Thanks for sharing.
You are quite welcome Janie. I forgot why they lost my interest for a few years, but I’m back on the “I LOVE COLEUS’ bandwagon again. 😉
Posted by Janie on November 1, 2009 at 6:56 pm
That should be coleus. I know that! I am getting worried about my poor brain! It turns off and on…..LOL
LOL, that’s okay Janie. Sometimes my fingers type quicker than my brain can keep up. 😉
