Fall in the garden

Hydrangea ‘Limelight’ Fall of 2012

In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a
fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves
bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening—no
days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air.

I’ve been MIA for sometime now from the blogasphere.  In the meantime a whole season in the garden has come and gone.  Fall has arrived and there is lots to do to prepare for the winter.  I have  bulbs to plant, cleanup to do in the perennial beds, transplanting, weeding, making new beds and storing my garden decor in the shed.  Then it will be time for a nice break where I can hibernate indoors with a good book, a cup of cocoa and dreams of next Spring.  In the meantime I am always on Facebook.  🙂
