My Creative Space

Brenda came up with a brilliant idea of letting us bloggers display our creative spaces. To see other creative spaces where ‘everyday women in everyday spaces’ create their blogs or other artistic endeavors please visit The Brenda Blog.

When you live in a 40 year old tiny ranch house you have to be creative with every inch of valuable space. My workspace is in the master bedroom squeezed in between the entry door & the bathroom. To be even more practical, my TV doubles as my monitor. Ignore the cat food container to the right, like I said I have to be creative with storage. Plus the cat hangs out in our room most of the time when he’s in the house. My chair is foldable which means it is easy to store elsewhere when the computer is not in use. This is where I work on my blog, surf the Internet, and read blogs on Blotanical. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is my husbands one area of the house he was allowed to decorate. lol We have an Ohio State theme as you can see. The calendar is great for keeping track of appointments. When you have teenagers you are a busy, busy, mom. It’s always something day to day. See there is my TV/Monitor. It’s a 19″ LCD and the perfect size for both television viewing and computer usage.

Behind me is where my garden helper ‘Spaz’ likes to lounge while I’m busy on the computer. Does she look comfy? lol This is my childhood bedroom set, its about 100 years old. My grandmother gave this to us when she moved in several years ago. Another family treasure that lives in my house. I hope you enjoyed your tour of my creative space.

I so enjoyed your creative space–it is obvious that room size or computer location doesn’t mean a thing! You have put your spot to great use without taking up lots of room. A great idea to use the folding chair! I love those–in fact, I love them so much, I just bought FOUR of them at an antique mall to use as extra seating when we have lots of folks over. Your bedroom set is amazing–so is your kitty! Thank you for sharing! dana

What a great idea for a post! My “space” is in the den at a desk with family pictures on the wall above and a dictionary (yes, a hardback book, no online for me) sitting at my side along with a few of my gardening books. There is a lamp on the desk, and more family pictures. My dh and I share this room.
Loved seeing your bedroom. It’s so pretty!

I surely did enjoy my tour of your creative space sitting here with my morning coffee! Oh, I can remember having teenagers in the house… Glory me! My kitties and Yorkies take over every available “soft” space in the house and I am sitting in whatever’s left over. Then they come sit on me anyway! Thanks for participating! See you in the gardening section…

I love creating in my bedroom. if there were space there I would have an art table near my favorite chair. I love how you gave your husband just a corner to decorate, my husband decorated the basement. Your puppy looks so comfy nearby. Thanks for the tour. Karen

I enjoyed seeing your creative space and I love how you incorporated your desk for creative blogging with the tv/computer monitor. Great idea for space saving. Your sweet pooch looks so comfy on your fabulous bed set. How wonderful to have that in your home. Loved your tour and your blog is lovely.
    Have a great day.

    Good morning Racquel ๐Ÿ™‚

Your space is so neat and tidy! I wish I had the ability to keep mine that way. You’ll notice we have something in common if you come to see my space LOL

I love how you have your antique childhood bedroom set. I think it’s important to have things with a history. Spaz is a doll baby and looks to be quite happy watching you from his spot ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for sharing your space with us.

We do what we have to, don’t we! It doesn’t matter where your space is just as long as you have a spot that’s yours to create what ever it may be.
Love your bedroom set. How great to have something passed down in the family for so many years and still look great. A treasure I’m sure you will pass along to more family. (btw-your area is much too neat!)

I think you're brave!! I wouldn't dare show my creative space on my blog ~ I'd be embarrassed! My computer area is piled with camera cards, photos, deadlines & assignments, etc. What a mess. My garden is way more organized!! You appear to keep things very neat tho!

Thanks for sharing your space. Using the television as a monitor sounds clever and easy to see, too! Your lamps are lovely– and so is your dear Spaz.

Thanks Patti. We make space where we can sometimes. Spaz is a star in blogging world. lol

Thanks Mom, I knew you would appreciate the OSU theme. lol I'm glad you like my bedroom set, it's antique which is your favorite. ๐Ÿ™‚

She is pretty comfortable Laurie. lol That spot on the bed is quite popular with the dogs & cat. It's my side of the bed, imagine that.

Thanks Tina. I'm glad you like my furniture. It is nice having something that has been in our family a long time. I am kind of a neat freak in my workspace.

Thanks Dana. I'm glad you enjoyed my creative space. The folding chair has been in our family awhile too. I have two of them. The other one is in the hall closet when we have a guest at dinner. ๐Ÿ™‚ Spaz is actually a terrier. Jack Russell mix. lol

Thank you Linda. It was all Brenda's idea so I can't take credit. It was a great one though. Your space sounds great too. I'm glad you enjoyed my bedroom. My hubby said he couldn't believe I would post pictures of it. lol

No thank you Brenda for hosting this creative space post. I'm glad you enjoyed my space. You seem to have a special place for your pets to enjoy too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Your welcome Karen. I'm glad you enjoyed my space. It's a good thing I gave him that wall or my whole house would be Red & Gray OSU style. lol I will let Spaz know you liked seeing her cuddling on my bed. lol

Thank you for your sweet comments Celestina. I enjoyed your space too! ๐Ÿ™‚ Sometimes when we are short on square footage we have to be creative with every inch we utilize. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for visiting Heidi. I'm glad you enjoyed my gardening posts. It is my true artistic passiion. I will give you any help I can with your own garden. It's nice to meet other bloggers with their own artistic pursuits.

I'm glad you enjoyed my space Rue. We do have quite a few things in common. (I stopped by your post, lol) I will give Spaz your regards. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for visiting. I seem to be too neat. That is my curse. lol

Thanks Beckie, I'm glad you like my bedroom set. It's nice to have a piece of family history in my home. It will be nice to pass down to my children. We make do with the space we have available to us. ๐Ÿ™‚ Again with the too neat stuff, lol. I'm a neat freak in my work space only, I promise.

Thanks Kathleen, I don't know if I'm brave or just not afraid to advertise my space. lol I'm not neat & tidy in all aspects of my life though.

Thanks Curtis Ann. I'm glad you enjoyed my space saving features of my room. Those lamps are great spacesavers too.

You are very welcome for the tour Susie. I'm glad you enjoyed my space. It's nice to have my childhood bedroom set. It has great sentimental value to my family.

My space is in my bedroom too. We have a small house and although my daughter moved out in January I leave her room as a guest room. I didn’t want to use it as a computer room because you never know she might come home…(-: Probably just wishful thinking but oh well(-: I love your bed. I collect antique furniture from family too. I have my original furniture from when I was a kid. Just refinished and stained. Thanks for sharing your space!!!

  23. Thanks for letting us see your work space. I suppose having a small work area forces you to be tidy – whether it comes naturally or not! My desk is a general holding area for things to do and is covered with reminders, notes and bills to deal with. No chance that I can forget them when they are in front of my nose.
