I used to call these guys zipper spiders because of their web looking like a zipper. (duh) Good to know the correct name.
That would be a good common name for them Janet.

Spider webs have a certain beauty. Spiders not so much.
Yep a bit creepy (the spiders) but the colors on this one are pretty.

I looked the spider up. I was wondering about the strange pattern which I now gather runs down the centre of the web. Much more sensible than me thinking the zig zag was the entire web!
Yep that’s just the center pattern of the web, they make some massive ones in my garden.
