Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow

This was what we experienced yesterday here in Hampton Roads, Virginia.  The accumulation was only about an inch, not much compared to what some of you up north and in the midwest are experiencing this month.  Even though it’s pretty, I’m glad it won’t be sticking around too long.  It’s always pretty at first, but the mess and traffic problems make it a nuisance quickly.   Even the cat decided it wasn’t a good day to go outside.  Poor Mooch.  🙂

  1. Wonderful photo!

I share your view that it’s pretty at first but soon become tiring… Across the pond we have been suffering the same extremes as those in the mid-west… Having lots of snow dumped on us and the UK almost at a standstill. We had 18 inches a couple of weeks ago – something I have never seen in my life. We’re used to half an inch if that, max 2 inches.

Thanks Liz, yep it’s only miraculous for a short period of time then all the mess sets in. We are use to only get minute amounts like you in the UK, but have had some periods of extreme snow. They don’t know how to drive in it here so the city shuts down, lol. 😉

  2. Magical picture of falling snow. We’re still waiting here in southcentral PA. We always hope for a white Christmas.

Thanks GS, I wouldn’t mind a White Christmas either. Hope we both get our wish. It sure would make it feel festive. 🙂

  3. I am amazed. I wonder how much more snow will fall on Hampton Roads this winter? This is an early start!

I agree, it is a bit early for us. I’m hoping for a white Christmas this year Janet. 🙂

  8. It does look lovely, Racquel, but I’m afraid I’m already tired of snow and the cold–the magic wears off quickly:) Glad to know yours won’t stick around long, although your garden does look beautiful covered in snow. I’m struck by all the red accents I see–so pretty!

Yep I was glad to see it go Rose and now their calling for more tomorrow. 😦 And their talking inches 5-6, yuck! Thanks, I do love my red garden decor.

  9. I love seeing snow in other peoples gardens ~ just not mine! I agree about what a mess it is too after it’s been around awhile. Last winter we had snow on the ground for four months straight. It was driving me crazy!

I’m sure you do Kathleen, lol. 😉 Yuck, four months straight would of driven me crazy too!

  10. We are in the deep freeze here in No. Illinois. The snow is coming down lightly…not the snow storm that we were expecting. Your picture is so pretty with snow leaving a dusting on everything…like powdered sugar. Have a nice day…Balisha

Sorry to hear that Balisha, their calling for some snow here today. In fact the city has gone into panic mode and schools are closed etc.. 😉 Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed my photo of the garden dusted in snow. 🙂

  11. Hi Racquel, your first snowfall was lovely! I bet you are well into your second or third by now…and heavily under it, too! Here we are, up north of you, and only a light dusting has fallen a couple of times so far! You’ve got us beat for sure this year! I hope you can get around ok…I hear this nor’easter is going to be a big one all the way up to Maine. We’re going to get about 6 inches at the most. Hope you had a Merry Christmas!

Hi Jan. Thanks! Yep we were bombarded with over 12″ of snow from this storm that came through Christmas Day. Hope you didn’t get blasted too. Hope you had a Merry Christmas too! 🙂
